Leading Women of Tomorrow

Student run, bipartisan organization to educate & empower young women

Welcome to

What is LWT?

Welcome to Boston University’s Chapter of Leading Women of Tomorrow!  We are so excited to have you. Here's a little bit about us:

As a national organization, Leading Women of Tomorrow is a student-run, bipartisan initiative that seeks to encourage more young women to consider careers in public service, with the aim of bridging the gender gap among public representatives. We believe the key to addressing the underrepresentation of women in government is to cultivate an interest in the next generation and we are so excited to be expanding to Boston University.

You have joined a chapter that is open to all sexes and genders, all years of education, all majors, and all backgrounds. The only common denominator is our shared passion for creating a more equitable and inclusive society and our commitment to changing the narrative of our history, together.

Women are the future, we are the future! LWT seeks to foster a new generation of female leaders and shapers of the world, and you have decided to become a part of that change, right here at Boston University. We plan to have weekly meetings focused around conversation and discussion as well as larger monthly meetings which will include a speaker series of successful and driven women and a skills-workshop series. By joining, you will also receive our bi-monthly newsletter of resources, tips, and events around campus as well as invitations to other events like voter-registration drives, debate watch parties, and fundraisers!

Raksha Khetan: Vice President/Co-Founder, Third Culture Club

“TCC is very excited to welcome a chapter of LWT to our campus. We support their dedication to encourage and empower women in both academic and professional fields, by providing resources through a close-knit network. We hope to build a long-lasting relationship with LWT, and look forward to their future endeavors.”

Ben Reydler: CEO, INTA+ Tutoring

“INTA+ Tutoring is a brand new startup here on campus and that's something we share with LWT's chapter this year. Their mission is incredibly vital and as our tutors and students are BU students, we recognize the importance of encouraging women in an academic space as it affects the rest of their life. We are excited to not only work with them but also learn from them and what they have to say.”

Radhika Shukla: Co-Captain, BU Jalwa

"As an organization which values strong female leadership and empowerment, BU Jalwa is greatly looking forward to having the amazing LWT chapter on campus this year, asking and answering difficult questions surrounding female representation in decision-making."

Ashya Singh: President, FinTech Club BU

"FinTech Club is thrilled about LWT's new chapter on campus. We know how important it is to empower women especially those heading into male-dominated fields. We are excited about the passion that LWT has to include people across all backgrounds, majors, and experiences to create a truly all-inclusive club. We are looking forward to working, supporting, and learning from them this year and on."
